Viktoria and Stefan grow strawberries in tunnels near Outlook and let them ripen red on the plant. In season, you’ll find them fresh at local markets.

Winter on the farm
There are no fresh strawberries right now. The tunnels sleep under the snow until spring, and the first fresh berries are back in July. Until then, Mina’s strawberry jam and freeze-dried strawberries keep a little of the season on your table.

No fresh berries in winter, but summer, kept in a jar. Find them at our winter markets or send us an order request.
Made by hand: Vicky slices every berry for the freeze-dried bags and cooks every batch of jam herself. Mina’s is named after Stefan’s grandmother.

Our farm
A couple of years ago, Viktoria and Stefan moved from Germany to Saskatchewan and built their strawberry farm near Outlook, just the two of them and their dog Loui.
The tunnels, the rows, the market stand: they built it all together. In season, the berries go straight from the field to local markets.
The tunnels, the rows, the market stand: they built it all together. In winter the tunnels rest under the snow: time to plan the next season and to meet you at our winter markets.

The tunnels protect the plants from Saskatchewan’s changing weather. We plant fresh every spring.
Our plants grow in raised pots, so the berries never touch the soil. They come to market clean, straight from the plant.
The berries stay on the plant until they’re ripe. Fresh ones go to market; the rest becomes Mina’s jam and freeze-dried strawberries.

Good to know
We’d rather be open with you. If something is missing here, just ask us.
We’re not organic, and we’re open about it. We never use herbicides: our plants grow in pots, so there are no weeds. We use fungicide during the season and insecticide only when we actually see pests on the plants. Everything we use is approved for strawberries, and we always keep the required waiting time before picking.
No. They grow off the ground, so they come clean from the plant. Wash them just before you eat them: washed strawberries spoil much faster.
Unwashed and in the fridge, usually about four days. A container with a lid helps them stay fresh a little longer.
We plant new every spring. The first berries are usually ready in July, and we pick until the cold comes in the fall. In winter you’ll find Mina’s jam and freeze-dried strawberries at the markets.
Yes, send us an order request below. We can only deliver within Saskatchewan, and there’s no online payment: we’ll get back to you to arrange the details. Farm pickup is not available.
